CBD for Athletes: How a UFC Champion Uses CBD

In the last decade, TJ Dillashaw has established himself as one of the most successful fighters in UFC history. The current bantamweight champion boasts an enviable 16-3 record and is widely considered one of the best mixed martial artists today. As a professional athlete with his mind set on becoming the best in the world, TJ approaches his workout routines with absolute focus and discipline which is why he relies on the best training practices and supplements to complement his rigorous regimen.

“When it comes to the world of sports and competing, I know there’s no one that’s going to work harder or smarter than me,” said Dillashaw in a recent interview. “And when I start saying smart, that’s why I’m using CBD. That’s why I’m where I’m at, and that’s why I’ve teamed up with Green Roads.”

As you can tell, TJ is not shy when it comes to discussing CBD for athletes and how it plays an important role in his professional life. He talks openly about the benefits of cannabidiol and how it can help athletes improve their lives on and off the field– or octagon in TJ’s case.

“CBD has been in my regimen because I know how great it is for combat sports– with dealing with concussions, dealing with anxiety for having to compete, and dealing with all the pressure that’s put on you when you have to fight in front of millions of people,” says Dillashaw.

TJ has been very vocal about his preference for Green Roads products, in particular, a preference that led to a partnership between the biggest CBD company in the country and the biggest name in mixed martial arts. The bantamweight title holder relies on three specific CBD products for his daily regimen: Green Roads CBD oil, CBD gummy bears, and CBD cream for pain.

“CBD has helped me with my inflammation and my muscle aches. The pain cream helps me with the bumps and bruises you get from it,” said TJ. Additionally, he claims to use CBD oil and CBD gummy bears to relax during recovery sessions and to help him cope with anxiety in demanding situations.

“I’m looking to be the best pound-for-pound fighter of all time, ever. It’s not about the belt; it’s not about having two belts. It’s about being the greatest of all time and the ultimate martial artist,” said Dillashaw.
